DFBM Course Outline
Levels 1,2, 3, and 4 -Pure Business Marketing, and Professional Development Training.  Zero Physical Instructor Training - Eighteen (18) hours total in-class time for DFBM Certification.  Online Webinar participants welcome.

Level 5 - Six (6) hours of hands-on physical Instructor training.  There may be students who take this course who will pass the physical exam very quickly because they may already be instructors in their region.  There may be students who are not currently teaching that may need more physical training to pass the minimum requirements.  Instructor will evaluate and advise those students who will need more physical training to pass the minimum physical Instructor Training (IT) requirements. 

24 hrs total in-class time for DFBMIT Certification.

  (hands-on fundamental physical Salsa Dance Instructor Training (IT) is not available for Webinar Participants)

  • Two consecutive days w/ lunch breaks each day, and lots of short breaks.

  • Various FREE Instructional DVDs for more detailed training.
  • One-month free membership to the DFBPNetwork© (Dance and Fitness Business Professionals Network).
  • Certificate of Completion (Based on Level completed)

Requirements
  • No experience necessary.
  • DFBM Course is excellent for developing a solid criterion for selecting your own future instructors, team members, partners in business, managers, agents, location(s), syllabus, overall structure / curriculum of your studio, and your own "self" development.
  • You don't have to be an instructor or business owner to attend!
  • Please bring a notepad and pen.
  • No video or audio-taping allowed.
  • Webinar participants must shut down ALL other computer applications during the ENTIRE course time.
  • The Webinar Software shows us whether you are paying attention or not (it's pretty cool). To ensure you were paying attention, and deserve a certificate of completion.  A random test will be given at the end of the course to ensure all was understood. Your workbook will be delivered to you upon completion of the course, and passing of the test. Remember, we will take many breaks during the day / evenings so you can do your “other stuff” online.
  • Exam upon completion of each course.

 Salsa FREAK Instructor Training and Business Development Courses throughout the World:  Stay tuned for our upcoming Monthly Business Mastery and Instructor Training Online Webinar Certification Series for those who cannot travel to the destinations below. 
If you wish to take part in the Business Development Certification Training via Online Webinar format, the cost is noted below, per country.  The webinar will only cover the Business Development portion of the Training.  Hands-on "Salsa Dance Instruction (Black Belt Salsa)" fundamentals training will not be available for Webinar participants due to the dance partnership "physical" nature and requirements of the dance partnership exam. 

Some business owners may not want to learn to teach Salsa specifically – they may be Martial Artists, Aerobics / Fitness instructors or the like, and simply only want the business-side of the course.  Others may want both the business and physical training side of Salsa Instructor Training.  And then there may be others whom are already Advanced Instructors who simply need an official Certificate and will easily pass the IT portion of the course.

1st  18 hours> Dance and Fitness Business Management (DFBM) Certification:  
(Seminar Format Only - 18 hours) The Dance and Fitness Business Management (DFBM) is a Business, Marketing and   Development seminar.   Take advantage of over 45 combined years experience and expertise on the “Business-Side” of the Dance and Fitness industry in just one 18 hour course!  This course is available onsite, or as an online-Webinar so you don't have to travel.  

Last six hours > OPTIONAL (no extra cost) : White Belt Certification Qualifier:
(Hands-on Physical Training Only - 6 hours) This portion of the DFBM is called “Instructor Training” or (IT).  It is the initial part of the Black Belt Salsa Certification Program (physical level) the “pass or fail” top-level physical training overview for the test required to obtain a White Belt Instructor Training Certification.   Getting your White Belt Certification is also the first step towards the ability to certify other instructors within your region. This physical portion will start from 3pm to 9pm on that Thursday (7/29/10). 

Every on-site participant will receive 10 free instructional DVDs.

"Instructor Training (IT) Certification"
Fundamentals of Salsa Dance Training -
The Qualities of a "World Class" Lead and Follow

During the Instructor Training (IT) certification, there will be various short breaks provided all day.  We will all go out or order in for lunch and / or dinner.   Please bring your own snacks.  Hands-on practice time, Salsa Syllabus DVDs, and question / answer session is included.  

  • IMPORTANT:  This type of training is more than just teaching "How to Teach".  It is intensive training on the "look and feel" of a World Class Salsa Dancer.  
     

  • We emphasize teaching specific Families of Salsa Moves and  Combinations in the IT Certification Course.  We review the basics of partner dancing as a whole.  Here, we teach solid fundamentals of World Class partner dancing techniques. 
     

  • In the IT portion of the course, we do not teach a particular “Style” of Salsa dance.  This course is great for all styles; Cuban dancers as well as New York, Colombian, Cali Style, and LA-Style instructors who teach Salsa or any other form of partner dance.  This INCLUDES fitness professionals in the Fitness or Marital Arts industries. We teach World Class partner foundational dance fundamentals, “teaching methods” and concepts. 
     

  • Our job is to "recommend" the top Salsa Syllabus course outlines in the world.  This Multi-Style list of DVDs will be titled, "The World's Best Salsa Syllabus Course Outlines".  Our Committee is currently reviewing all styles of Salsa Syllabus DVDs and curriculum's to be placed on our "Highly Recommended List".   If you would like your School's syllabus to be considered for review, please contact  Edie Williams  wowedie@yahoo.com or Silvia at silvia@salsa-emocion.com 

Pre-Registration Requirement

The only requirement for attending any of our certification courses is that you have DESIRE... desire to take your business and life to SPECTACULAR in every way.   

You do not need to be a dancer, nor instructor, nor business owner to attend.
